Enthused by Partizan I have been getting some painting done, working on a collection of support weapons for my Italian Sicily force. All are Warlord figures a mix of metal and resin from their support weapon pack and command pack.
Breda Machine gun and elefantino anti-tank gun
Mortar team
Anti-tank rifle, sniper and mortar team
Artillery 100/17 Modello 14 gun with crew
Command squad with Enrico Francisci who is the special figure with the Italian campaign book
The command and support weapons ready for battle
The wet hare has been spectacular over the last few weeks so I have had a few trips out into the Lakes, hard not to take nice photos
The Langdales
Crummock Water in the west
Finally on one day there was what I believe to be a US C-17 flying around on training flights, most entertaining as it circled around for about and hour.
That’s it for now some more gaming over the next few days
Thanks Matt ❤️
Matt,
ReplyDeleteThey look great, can't wait to see them on the table!
V/R,
Jack
Thanks Jack hopefully soon π€
DeleteItalians in Sicily.....sounds like the right place for them Matt! Some nice looking groups there. Can't see a wet hare in your scenery pics though....? (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith…….and the pleasure of auto correct typing !
DeleteLovely work on the Italians Matt. I saw a picture of you at Partizan on Ray's blog, and you were looking very well indeed.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I saw the photo too! Matt is a cause célèbre.
DeleteThanks Lawrence, I’ll not comment on whether I look well or not but glad you like the Italians π
DeleteVery nice work on your Italians, they look great and certainly great additions to your Italian army. Stunning scenery, absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie, I’m fortunate with the local environment π
DeleteFine bunch of Italians and stunning photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon π
DeleteLovely Italians Matt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal π
DeleteItaliani dall'aspetto molto raffinato. Look forward to seeing them in action, pretty sure we saw that plane when we were in Grasmere couple of weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil…hopefully in action soon. The plane certainly makes an impression as it is sizeable and flying quite low
DeleteSplendid additions to the Italians for Sicily, but put in the shade by the marvellously uplifting landscape photos - I never tire of those.
ReplyDeleteThanks David…..the Lake District can pretty much always guarantee a spectacular scenery
DeleteGreat looking troops as always.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, James
Thanks James π
DeleteGreat looking figures. I rarely see Italian forces on table locally. Nice photos of real world.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe, I guess the Italians don’t have a good reputation so are not the most popular army to collect. The benefit in Sicily is I can always supplement them a few Germans if needed
DeleteGood productivity since Partizan. Your basing would work with the Rapid Fire Reloaded rules and they have just released a new booklet called Monty Vs Rommel, which has an Italian Scenario …. ariete’s last stand.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norm, they are most likely to appear as a bolt action force of course, but you never know ?
DeleteGreat looking figures Matt
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil
DeleteExcellent looking Italians and the landscape is breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain I’ll take the credit for the talk and at least
DeleteGreat work on those Italians Matt and once of my favourite forces, just because of their useless tanks and tankettes, which are charming, but a complete liability! The 'wet hare' threw my for a moment, until I realised it was good old predictive text! Lovely shots of the lakes as always:).
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, I certainly hope the Italians will be fun ?
DeleteLovely new additions to this collection Matt…
ReplyDeleteAnd beautiful pictures of the Lake District… It’s one of these places that manages to look good regardless of the wet hare… π
All the best. Aly
