Italians for Sicily

Enthused by Partizan I have been getting some painting done, working on a collection of support weapons for my Italian Sicily force. All are Warlord figures a mix of metal and resin from their support weapon pack and command pack.

Breda Machine gun and elefantino anti-tank gun
Mortar team
Anti-tank rifle, sniper and mortar team
Artillery 100/17 Modello 14 gun with crew
Command  squad with Enrico Francisci who is the special figure with the Italian campaign book
The command and support weapons ready for battle

The wet hare has been spectacular over the last few weeks so I have had a few trips out into the Lakes, hard not to take nice photos
The Langdales
Crummock Water in the west
Finally on one day there was what I believe to be a US C-17 flying around on training flights, most entertaining as it circled around for about and hour.

That’s it for now some more gaming over the next few days

Thanks Matt ❤️

  2. Italians in Sicily.....sounds like the right place for them Matt! Some nice looking groups there. Can't see a wet hare in your scenery pics though....? (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

  6. Italiani dall'aspetto molto raffinato. Look forward to seeing them in action, pretty sure we saw that plane when we were in Grasmere couple of weeks ago.

    1. Thanks Phil…hopefully in action soon. The plane certainly makes an impression as it is sizeable and flying quite low

  7. Splendid additions to the Italians for Sicily, but put in the shade by the marvellously uplifting landscape photos - I never tire of those.

  9. Great looking figures. I rarely see Italian forces on table locally. Nice photos of real world.

    1. Thanks Joe, I guess the Italians don’t have a good reputation so are not the most popular army to collect. The benefit in Sicily is I can always supplement them a few Germans if needed

  10. Good productivity since Partizan. Your basing would work with the Rapid Fire Reloaded rules and they have just released a new booklet called Monty Vs Rommel, which has an Italian Scenario …. ariete’s last stand.

    1. Thanks Norm, they are most likely to appear as a bolt action force of course, but you never know ?

  12. Great work on those Italians Matt and once of my favourite forces, just because of their useless tanks and tankettes, which are charming, but a complete liability! The 'wet hare' threw my for a moment, until I realised it was good old predictive text! Lovely shots of the lakes as always:).

  13. Lovely new additions to this collection Matt…
And beautiful pictures of the Lake District… It’s one of these places that manages to look good regardless of the wet hare… 😁

    All the best. Aly
