I had planned our Scottish holiday to free up a trip down to Partizan, so this weekend I made the journey down. The benefit of the van is being able to stay free making it a bit more economical and avoiding six hours of driving in one day !
Firstly it is a great show to catch up with lots of friends and acquaintances and to make a few new ones.
Secondly the quality of the games of display is really inspirational, others will share lots of photos so here are just a few of the games which caught my eye. (I didn’t jot down any details so just from memory) Top of the list for me was the Perry’s Pennisular game mainly because they had a Spanish army on show which was great inspiration for me.
Many stunning game displays, Matt! Thanks for the show recap!
ReplyDeleteSome real eye candy Jon 👍
DeleteNice photos Matt, and good to see that CoC 2 is now out. I always like the way the Perrys base their Napoleonic figures as they look nicely close together.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence, and yes the Perrys have them closer than most, it makes for an impressive game but a bit more painting 👍
DeleteThanks Matt, very much enjoyed the Perry table / figs. chain of Command 2 seems to be getting very well received.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norm sorry you couldn’t make it this year
DeleteGood to catch up today Matt, some nice shots there the can’t remember photo is the Dutch invasion of Hispaniola circa 1675. I have had a read through of CoC2 there are some good looking additions in there which will certainly enhance game play.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, I need to make some time to get into the rules !
DeleteLooked like a great day, i was building a patio and finishing the wargames room
ReplyDeleteCheers…..household chores are important 👍
DeleteSome super looking game on show there Matt, the SYW especially looked tremendous. A decent wee haul of goodies too.
ReplyDeleteSome great games on display 👍
DeleteGreat to meet up and catch up Matt! Hope you arrived back home still inspired to get painting underway! I need time to recover nowadays...
ReplyDeleteThanks David I did indeed, traffic was surprisingly light and I have been cracking on with some Italians for Sicily 👍
DeleteLooks like Phil beat me to it - and actually knew what the game was - I was going to suggest Spanish American War/Cuba as the terrain has that vibe - Spanish architecture and palm trees!
ReplyDeleteAll the other games look great too and I like the Yesteryear style vehicle pack you bought for your ongoing Seelowe campaign, presumably?
Thanks Keith, so many games I just lost track. The vehicles are too small for my 28mm stuff but I have set them up in the railway as they are a nice period touch
DeleteGreat looking show!!!
ReplyDeleteA grand show indeed 👍
DeleteNice to catch up . I barely got round it with playing a game and my hour on the bring and buy. The games I did see looked brilliant as usual . I sold almost everything I took . The Desert Rats went as well in the end .
ReplyDeleteGood to catch up Dave the rats were a bargain for somebody. You’ll have plenty of money to spend on more………………!
DeleteThought I know that face but couldn't place it when you went outside about 10.45 and I was queuing to get in,sorry to have missed you! I thought it was a great show and I supported the traders somewhat more than you!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Oh dear sorry not to have said hello, at least you made the show it was a good one 👍
DeleteNice to bump into you at the show Matt and for the chance to have a chat. Sadly as the show got very busy after that, I didn't spot you again! A good show but am paying the price today for 6 hours of driving and 3 hours at the show! First World problems and all that;).
ReplyDeleteYes great to catch up Steve I did look out for you later but as you say it got busy around lunchtime and I headed off a bout 13:30ish. Luckily I have the van so stayed over locally splitting the 6 hours between the sat and Sunday. Worth it though some great games on display.
DeleteSome great pics Matt, good to bump into you for a chat again.
ReplyDelete👍
DeleteIt was indeed a good looking show… And the Perry’s Peninsular game was certainly inspiring…
ReplyDeleteIt’s nice to see pictures of all the games I missed…
All the best. Aly
