Lehwaldt Infantry SYW and Tiger Tank

Progress seems to have been slow but I finally have something completed to share. Following the Hochkirch battle some enthusiasm to quickly finish my next Prussian regiment

The Lehwaldt Infantry not much to say about them Pendraken figures in rather smart
Prussian blue uniforms
I managed to find the 15mm Tiger tank I had hidden in the dungeon, painted up in the same scheme as the other German armour.
A couple of purchases, a rare bargain off eBay some Halftracks for my Panzer Grenadiers, I need to look out for a few more
After the York show I had discussed getting a copy of the above book but couldn’t find a copy at a reasonable price. However a mate came across one at a very good price and a mint copy too. Looking forward to reading some of the detail.

Finally we have had crazy nice weather in the Lake District so we were out walking again
Looking south……
Looking east past Causey Pike
Yours truly and the boss

More to come soon thanks for lookingπŸ˜€

  1. A good battle is a great painting inspiration. Lovely scenics. Weather still not so terrific here but it is beginning to look promising.

I wish I saw your call-out for the El Cid book. I have a second copy you could have had.

    1. Thanks Jon, crazy spring weather here. If I’d known …but it was a good price, have you got two copies of many books ?

  2. Some fine additions there Matt, a good EBay find too. I have virtually given up on EBay as you say finding a bargain is a rarity, perhaps its because most stuff is sold by re-sellers now, I don't sell old stuff on there anymore perhaps there are more like me hence the lack of real bargains?

    1. As you say a bargain is a rarity, but they do come up, my recent Germans are two examples so still worth looking. These halftracks came in about about £3 each including postage so I was happy.

  3. Lots of interesting variety on show here Matt - nice you were able to find a bargain on eBay too! The hills look great - we actually did something similar for a change ie it wasnt through native bush akin to jungle! But that will have to wait a while till I clear the backlog of other photos from our five day trip!

  5. I often find that a good game inspires painting. Sure you will enjoy the El Cid book. One of the better WAB supplements

    1. Thanks Neil, have scanned and lots for me to work through. It’s really only for background although you never know a game of WAB might be nice ?

  6. Fine looking new additions, grand finds on eBay but all trumped by the pictures from the Lakes.

  8. Great work on the Prussians and the Tiger I Matt. A good find on the El Cid book as some of the supplements are on sale at silly prices. I managed to pick up a Dark Ages one for a good price some years ago and have never used it since!

Stunning weather down here too although I've been in the garden all the time, but hope to go out for a good walk over the next few days whilst it lasts.

  9. Nice work Matt, and I like the look of those Pendraken figures. That is one manufacturer I have missed out on over the years. The Tiger looks great too.

    1. Thanks Lawrence I’ve only got their 10mm stuff so not sure what the alternatives are like but for quality , sculpting and easy of painting they are pretty good.

  10. Good deal on the halftracks, my mate has one and I have been waiting over a year to get a ride in it, one lives in hope. Nice troops and tank.
