Jam and peanut butter : Painting update

Just an update on some painting progress, if you’re not sure about the title check out Stew’s Terrible Loss blog listed at the side ๐Ÿ˜€

Last time I shared the 15mm late war Germans I mentioned I needed some 88’s to round things out, as if by magic Martin (many thanks) had some unwanted from a previous, no longer active, project. I’ve completed these and some more bits

2 x 88’s with the command vehicle which I had as a spare
They came with some rather natty transport
Some objective markers , bits picked up at a show ages ago which had been sat on the side, so I finally got round to basing and painting them
Prussian SYW Jaegers, with the battle of Teplitz to be played we needed a unit of Jaegers for The Frekorps. As is often the case I had these but they weren’t painted so the day before I rushed these to the top of the painting queue. I will blog the battle pictures soon , honest
Finally not many Lake District landscapes recently but I have been out so here are a couple of shots, the first near Derwentwater
The second one of the many Neolithic stone circles a few miles from our house.
Finally at the Pendraken Birthday bash I felt obliged to buy something from their shop, we all need more books so picked this up hopefully useful for my impending retirement and some dark age tents which are being painted

So that’s it for now a show and tell of what I have been upto, almost completed another french infantry unit ๐Ÿ‘and  ordered some Norwegian stuff

Thanks for popping by

  1. A nice mix of stuff there Matt. I too keep meaning to make some objective markers, battlefield debris etc, but somehow never quite get around to it. However with some cool weather at last, I have made a start on basing some buildings up that will work from the 18thC - 20thC.

Nice shots of the Lake District as always and i bet it was nice up there during the recent heatwave.

    1. Thanks Steve I had the broken vehicle bits floating about for ages so it is nice to get them out of the way. It means when I do get around to a battle with my new Germans they can fight for something

  3. Great work on the objective counters Matt! I chose to not go 15mm for my WW2 stuff, as I had piles of 1/72nd, which I have sold off for the most part. The 15mm stuff wasn't as available, so most of us have gone 28mm for Chain of Command. I will say though that 15mm does a much better job for ranges & such on the table.

    1. Thanks Terry, scales are such a tricky issue for WW2, I actually have three, more than any other period. But each one plays very differently. It reminds me I haven’t played with the 6mm for a long time ๐Ÿ™

  6. Gorgeous landscapes and equally gorgeous figures. Teplitz? I know the 1813 battle but unfamiliar with the SYW battle. Off to do some reading.

  11. Fabulous work Matt, although I don't know how you cope with the smaller scale.

    1. Thanks Michael these of course are 15mm so you just don’t have to worry about the detail ๐Ÿ‘

    2. Except the jaegers who are 10 ! Even less worrying about details for them ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Nice job on the miniatures and you certainly got some nice scenery around where you live. All I got is miles of suburbia.

Appreciate the mention as well. Thanksgiving! Remember the point is we all love peanut butter and jelly (or whatever the international equivalent is). ๐Ÿ˜€
