I’ve managed to maintain the enthusiasm for painting the ECW project. A couple more infantry units
A first unit of dragoons, mounted in a slightly more open formation
A couple of brigade commanders just to try them out on their round bases
I decided to blitz some cavalry
The second infantry unit completed this morning.
I picked these up off eBay, they are hand made but to a very high standard and match extremely well my current Mediterranean buildings so provide a nice little extension to the building collection.
I have also been pondering updating my ‘roads’ for a while and after lots of consideration I ordered a large amount of flexible roads off eBay (fatfranks) which I’m sure a number of you already have. Specifically this allows me to run roads over my hills and create more interesting roads networks, they are pretty generic so will work in a wide range of periods and scales. I should have enough for bigger games in the shed as well.
The beauty of the Lakes in Autumn
Thats it for now not sure when the next game is planned as I need to get over this cold, but I well enough to paint so will carry on…..
Thanks for getting this far π€§♥️ Matt
Matt, the last photo of the Fells is magnificent as are all of your works coming out from the painting desk! Hope you beat your cold soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon…these colds are very tenacious but hopefully soon feeling better ? The autumnal light is very pretty in the Lake District
DeleteLovely Fells photo there Matt! Figures aren't bad either!π Phil has some Fat Frank roads, perfectly serviceable for gaming but not as flexible as the old, sadly defunct, Scenic Effects ones.
ReplyDeleteThanks David, the roads at least work with my hills and are fairly generic so I can get lots of use from them.
DeleteHi Mat, we were up at Grasmere last week, good R&R. The Epic is coming in nicely and the hand made buildings are lovely … a good find.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norm…grasmere a lovely spot when the weather is nice. Although a bit busy for me, the buildings are really nice and as they have the same roof tile sheets that I used they match well my own buildings
DeleteWoooa! Wha a great painted stuff Matt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal π
DeleteVery nice work on those units!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Bill, the epic scale paint up pretty well π
DeleteGood work on the Epic ECW Matt, very nicely done, nice find on ebay, good looking buildings. Fatfranks stuff is very decent for the price, I have a few of his road pieces and very happy with them. Cracking view of the Fells, stunning!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Donnie I’m working away on the epic stuff slowly. The roads seem popular π
DeleteSorry to hear you have been unwell Matt hopefully it does not drag on like the previous time, reported here on your blog.
ReplyDeleteAt least you are well enough to keep churning out very nice ECW units. The image of the Fells is indeed breathtaking.
Thanks Keith, I seem to be recovering if a bit slowly, I am at least able to paint stuff now. The lakes are always dramatic π
DeleteLuvvly work on the ECW figures Matt. I do like the ECW epic scale figures. They always seem to paint up so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray they certainly seem to paint up ok and fairly quickly
DeleteFine work on the minimen they look really good, I couldn't be doing that scale these days. A good EBay find too, FF's road are really good not very bendy but they do the job. Outstanding outdoor pic too.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Phil they just need to be approached in a different way to bigger figures
DeleteThat is a lot of beautiful ECW output Matt. I'd never heard of Fat Franks and I need more roads. I'll have a look at them today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence a few more to come yet. You will see quite a few people with these roads on blogs. For me they are flexible and very generic allowing me to use them in lots of different periods and games π
