The Adventures of Captain Lockhart : FIW Muskets and Tomahaks

We played a game a few weeks ago using Muskets and Tomahawks and those that follow my blog will know I have been moving from laptop to iPad. As part of the transition I have been looking for a way to do the comic style as easily as possible.....after a few suggestions I have a new app. So as a test and first experiment I can reveal the Adventures of Captain Lockhart.........

I see captain Lockhart being my heroic British character to balance with Gaston in our previous battles. So he will have more adventures in the future. I have learnt loads knocking this up.......

1. It takes ages but gets quicker๐Ÿ˜ข
2. I need to take more close up photos....but don't want this to spoil the game.๐Ÿ˜
3. I can do it all fairly easily with the right apps on the iPad.๐Ÿ˜€
4. Writing comics is fun ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. That's brilliant! Well done sir.
I do fancy F&IW and M&T as a ruleset, but just have too many projects...
What's the software/app you're using for the comics?

    1. Thanks.....it was my first attempt so room for improvement. Software is comic life on iPad. pretty easy to use after a couple of attempts.

  2. Superb! Are you using Comic Life 3?

Close-ups and story or pics of the whole table and an actual report of how the game played...it's a dilemma! We usually come down on the side of close-ups and story.

And yeah...it does take ages to put them together but it is fun. Me and the boy love it once we get started...but we do tend to put off starting as it can be daunting having to spend so much time on them.

Anyway...grand job! I shall look forward to more!

    1. Thanks Gordon......praise from the master ! Yes comic life but I think the version before 3 (which I guess stupidly is version 2) I have noticed that the photo quality when I look remotely at the blog is quite poor. Are the pictures clear ? I may have done something wrong in the saving process. Not bad for a first attempt.

    2. I don't think it's the photos as the writing seems a little hazy, too. How did you post the comic on Blogger? I 'export' the comic from Comic Life as both a pdf file (which I put on Google Docs and Dropbox so people can see the full-size pages...easier to read) and jpegs. I then post the jpegs on the blog...they can be a little difficult to read because of their size...but the sharpness doesn't seem to be a problem.

    3. I'm going to experiment a bit more and see where I am going wrong....they are crystal clear as originals.

  6. Inspiring. I'm getting into Sharp Practice and this seems like an ideal way to carry on a running storyline. Thanks for sharing. Your picture quality was fine for me too. I was more intrigued by the whole process and it looks great!

    1. Thanks Adam...a bit of trial and error as this was the first attempt with comic life. It is actually quite quick when you get the hang of it.
