Arabic/desert town upgrade and 286 churches !

Off work this week a few chores and trips but also a bit of time for a project or two. First up I have been meaning to make some additional walls to use with my Arabic Village buildings. Made two sections of 'big' walls, same contrsuction as the other buildings and they match in pretty well (luckily I remembered how I painted the previous stuff). These allow me to pretty much stretch across the full table.
The whole town currently, the new wall sections have windows on the other side
Secondly the smaller wall sections which allow me to make lots of different options of small fortified houses...ideal for being raided by either Colonel Cavendish or the new Belgian Faction in Zanzibar, they will also cover for Crusader games when I finally finish my moorish troops πŸ™‚
I do have at least a couple more buildings to make and they will arrive at some stage down the line. A larger mosque type building a couple of towers and a few sundries such as a well, some market stalls

And what about the churches, had a day trip to Edinburgh today as well as visiting the excellent Jacobite exhibition at the national museum

............we went to the Modern Art Gallery..not everybodies cup of tea but I love it. Anyway one of the installations by Nathan Coley was his 286 churches these are beautifully made from cardboard, all 286 places of worship in Edinburgh.

  1. Town looks great, but I'm not fighting you for control of 286 churches. See you on Saturday, 10.00?

  4. I like your Arabian town and walls. Can't see the church models as art though.

  8. Out of 286 churches I am sure there would be at least 1 gothic revival church. Big fan of Gothic (and Egyptian) revival.

The town walls look spiffing as well. If only I had a use for them.....what does that matter maybe I should just make them and then come up with a use! That is the thinking a wargamer would do> Excellent
