German Cavalry : Operation Sealion/Eastern Front

I had wanted a unit of these for ages ! Giving the Germans even more mobility as they ride across Kent or the Eastern front.

They are Crusader Miniatures and I stuck with helmets rather than forage caps which they also do....what next I wonder 😀

  1. "what next I wonder" ...Dead horse casualty markers?

Keep up the good work. Lots of nicely painted Germans make perfect targets for when the RAF Wellingtons carpet bomb the battlefield! :)

    1. I ppfrom what I have read they were mainly used in reconnaissance activities, they never had enough horses for big units, so similar role really to ACW.

    1. As my comet above mainly used in reconnaissance. But used quite widely by the Germans as well as horse drawn vehicles.

  6. Nice looking figures excellent.
I like that you have include a 'horse holder' not sure about the BA rules you use but if they dismount can you use him to mark where the horses are to mount up again if required?

    1. thanks he comes with the command pack. But yes I think he will appear as background fluff or when the unit dismounts. 🙂
