Ogres vs Dark Elves : Dragon Rampant

I have purchased a new iPad which partly explains the lack of blogging recently. I am also testing a new blogging tool as I want to ween myself of the laptop if I can. So this might be a real mess. Some pictures of a Dragon Rampant battle from a couple of weeks ago. I,m going to test out the features !

Here is the ogre tribe preparing for battle....a jolly bunch just looking for a good meal out.....(they are of course part of my chaos ogre army)

Moving across the table

The hydra charging across the table....

Apparently I can do lists as well....so why do we love Ogres
  • They smell
  • They eat lots
  • They like squashing Dark Elves ๐Ÿ˜Š
Ok they is a test and may be a real mess......can't seem to get the txt next to the photos either ! Just beyond my technical capacity.

  1. I have a love/hate relationship with all things computer...probably more hate. And one of the things I hate is having to spend so much time learning how to use/fix things. For something that is supposed to make life easier I sure seem to spend an awful lot of time trying to figure out how to do something!

    Anyway, great looking game!

    1. Hate.......... But I quite like the blogosphere. Just frustrating when the technology doesn't quite do what you want and I am trying to keep it simple.

  2. I'm waiting for my copy of Dragon Rampant to arrive, but already have some 28-30mm figures that I'd love to use with the rules. Can I ask, please

In the game you've shown, what size table did you use to play?

And did you find the table size restricting to the figure scale?

I just wondered if I'd need a 6'x4' table to use my 28-30mm figures for the rules.

    1. Thanks Roy yes this is on a 6x4 table, we were playing 40 points which sounds a lot but actually only gives you 4 or 5 units. If you play yes. Smaller table would be fine, but you need to keep the 3" gap between units. I think where DR really comes into its own is where you play single figures against bigger units . See my previous LOTR post.

    2. I agree. I've played single figures against single or reduced model units and it works perfectly and this is because the use of Strength Points means, effectively, units can be of whatever size you want. I think the spectacle of single model 'heroes' against big units would really do the heroes vs hordes of LotR well...it would look brilliant!

    3. Also re table size...my single and reduced model units worked perfectly on my kitchen table which is about 2.5' x 3.5'. There are a couple of batreps on my blog.

    4. Thanks Gordon. To be honest I had thought to check out your batreps, but then forgot all about it. Too many things going through my head, concerning wargaming, at the moment.

  5. Dont use the ipad for blogging as it's basically a browser/camera, but did find this which might be useful.

You need something because the post is a bit of a mess, not up to the usual standard.
