With a view to progressing my Norwegian diversion I have ordered some Norwegians from Gorgon Studios in the USA, they have just arrived and I plan to show some size comparison picture when I get a chance. However, in the interim I had purchased some warlord winter Germans to convert into Norwegians.
I spent quite bit of time finding pictures of Norwegians here is a typical example, according to the sources the they had standard grey coats, the darker ones are older issue dark blue some had British Brodie helmets
I have painted up two squads
Apparently the Norwegians had no light machine guns so both units only have rifles
I also made three figures to act as a mortar crew
Here are the new guys from America they look nice casts
And a scenery shot from a cycle one evening this week.
Hopefully another AWI tomorrow π

DeleteI agree with the other guys, your first batch of Norwegians look very nice, as do the new arrivals from across the Atlantic. The scenery looks lovely too..nice sunny weather!

DeleteThese Norwegians look great! I painted my 15mm Norwegians in a bluish, grey-green tunic/coat but almost anything would go since mobilization was so hurried. Mine carry an LMG since they did use the Danish Madsen 6.5mm machine gun.

Thank Jon, I do have a couple of Madsen guns in the new arrivals but my plan was to have these as separate units for bolt action. I think I read somewhere they had no smaller machine guns ? As for Long Island I was thinking the same thing for the British π

ReplyDeleteThe weather has been good. I decided to splash out on the Gorgon figures yes the postage was a little high but it was kind of to compensate for the lack of shows where I would have spent the money anyway ?

It is still used by the Brazilian Police…

DeleteThose look great Matt and have given me ideas for what 10mm Pendraken figures I might be able to use. Nice to see the weather has been good for some bike rides in such lovely scenery.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, it does appear the Norwegians who were mobilised very quickly we’re a fairly irregular looking force, so quite a few options which can be mixed together.

Great looking Norwegians - don't see these very often. Whenever I think of this part of the war I think of Heroes of Telemark.
