These guys had their first run out at the weekend. They were finished just in time and I didn’t have a chance to give them their moment in the spotlight so here it is.
Picked these up ages ago second hand but needed the impetus of a battle to get them finished. Used shield transfers as they came in the box. These mean I can now field six troops of 6 for either dark age or Al Andalus games.
We are toying with the battle of Hastings which might be fun, but strangely I don’t have many Norman archers so that would need to be fixed.π
Very nice they were as well. Like all new troops they fought poorly
ReplyDeleteI thought they did ok in the end π€
DeleteThey look great, with the shields setting them off.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norm π
DeleteThey look great! Its a nice boxed set,you get a lot for your money, so ECW or WOTR next? Other acronyms are available !
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain I agree they are excellent value for money, good sculpts and a reasonable size comparison. As to the next project I am not jumping too soon but you have hit the nail on the head with ECW and WOTR I can feel myself drifting to a new project perhaps in the new year ?
DeleteExcellent horsemen! The shields really make them pop!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan transfers are great when you just don’t have the enthusiasm to paint lots more shields !
DeleteCracking looking unit Matt. I have plenty of spare WoTR Perry figures left both metal and plastic if you want to try a few before taking the plunge.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil........I am not sure I need encouraging ! But then again if they were surplus to your needs and only if they were surplus we could perhaps come to an arrangement ?
DeleteI will have a sort out when I am back home and let you know what I have spare.
DeleteNo rush at all Phil , just drop me an email when you are ready π
DeleteI got a bunch of these guys. Yours look better. π
ReplyDeleteNice job on the painting. I’m assuming because they were painted just before the big game that they all died horribly or fled the field at the first morale test in the age old tradition? π
Thanks Stew .......some debate about their first deployment effectiveness, they were all slaughtered by the end but did pin down the enemy left flank. They held up their end without fleeing π
DeleteGrand addition to the ongoing project Matt! Are they plastic though?
ReplyDeleteThanks David and if you can tell if they are plastic all the better π
DeleteGreat looking Norman horse. Your opponent will be shaking in his boots at the sight of these warriors
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary he was quaking till he shot them full of arrows !!!!!π
