Despite some challenges with my daughter’s health this week (she is fine now) I have managed some painting. First up after the Sicily battle last week I decided the Italians needed some extra heavy support !
Italian super heavy tank CV33
I managed to pick up both of these from eBay at a reasonable price the second is a flame Tank which will no doubt terrify the Americans ?
Ok I probably wasn’t fooling anybody the new armour are Italian CV33 tankettes and here they are compared to my German Tiger they may not be quite so scary but should at least be hard to hit ? And will provide some fun
Another ECW unit has rolled of the painting table
I also painted up these Commanded Foot effectively musketeers detached as a skirmish unit.
Well that’s it for now I will hopefully get some more painting done soon

ReplyDeleteIt honestly must have been embarrassing to be an Italian soldier in the mid war period...their armour looks like it belongs in the BoB theatre!

Lovely work on the Italian tankettes, they look great, be interesting to see how the perform when they get their chance on the table! More super work on the ECW figures, really well done.

ReplyDeleteAh, those Italian 'super heavy' tankettes are always a favourite of mine:)! I always wondered why their tanks were so small, but having read Zaloga's book about them, they were restricted by the weight limits of italian bridges. Still always fun to use them, especially the ones 'upgraded' with a 20mm Solothurn AT rifle/gun.
