Seem to have been really busy here not sure why perhaps hang over from new year ? but lots going on behind the scenes, prepping for battles, thinking up projects. A few bits completed on the painting front.
Think this is my third and final Kubelwagon they came as a job lot from a bring and buy sale ages ago
Another SYW hussar regiment these are the Von Zieten Hussars, notable by the fact that I painted sixteen Must have been one xtra in the packet ?
I have been planning and starting to build a hexed based gaming set up for a while, perhaps this is what I keep spending my time on. When I have a bit more interesting to show I’ll do a better post on this.
Finally the weather as been generally poor over the last couple of weeks so on Friday I snatched a half decent opportunity to get up into the hills. The weather was mixed but refreshing π
The hussars are very striking, look forwards to seeing where the hexes take you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norm I have spent more time thinking about the hexes than actually making them π
DeleteI like the Kubelwagon
ReplyDeleteLove all stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal π
DeleteIsn't it nice when a bunch of unrelated stuff rolls off the table, pushing forward or completing projects?
ReplyDeleteI always seem to have several projects on the go so I’m often shopping about what I paint π€
DeleteCracking progress Matt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael small steps small stepsπ
DeleteNeat little VW and very dashing hussars there Matt, hexes sound interesting I found with the game Jonathan put in for us flowed rather well using hexes. The photo could be in the Himalayas at a glance.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, I think for certain games when playing remotely the hexes do give an advantage so they will give me another option π
Deletenice job on these, see you soon
ReplyDeleteCheers time seems to fly π
DeleteNeat kubelwagen and splendid hussars.
ReplyDeleteGood to see progress on your hexes. While I made hill hexes similar to your work here for my two-inch hexes for CCA, I have yet to go beyond stacking multiple hexes to make a hill for my four-inch hex terrain. I should follow your lead and get to work on proper hills.
Thanks Jon proper hills may be stretching it ? But I might make some stacking blocks as well ?
DeleteLovely new toys Matt…
ReplyDeleteYour view of generally poor weather looks so much better than the view of the very grey shed at the bottom of my garden π.
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly , Friday certainly saw a mix of weather but I survived π
DeleteGreat work Matt. I always love a kubelwagon and this is a lovely example.
ReplyDeleteThanks , I only needed up with three as they came in a bag together secondhand it is a trifle indulgent π
DeleteGrand progress there on all fronts Matt! The weather conditions look a tad austere there in the last picture.
ReplyDeleteThe weather would be best described as mixed , but I am fairly used to the mountains and what they can throw at you π
DeleteNice new additions Matt and your scenic image is suitably impressive too...wintry scenes are just as attractive to look at as blazing sunshine, if not quite so pleasant to be in the middle of!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith i was well wrapped up ! (We could do with a bit of warm sun at the moment)
DeleteLovely kublewagon and nice hussars! Scenery isn't to be sniffed at either!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain π
DeleteA nice mix of stuff going on there Matt and love the Kubelwagen and Hussars. Really looking forward to seeing the finished results of the hexed hills. Sadly no snow here, only dull and persistently wet weather:(.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, the hexes are slowly taking shape perhaps a few more weeks before a full demonstration though π€
