Seven Years War Prussian Fusiliers

The next unit in my seven years war project another unit of Prussian Fusiliers. These are the Von Kreytzen Fusiliers a wonderfully colourful unit in their pink uniforms.

These are a slightly different pose to the majority of the other units I have so far and make a refreshing change
I wouldn’t normally show close ups especially of 10 mm figures but in this case I thought others might be interested to see the quality of the sculpting and casting. It makes them fairly easy to paint. Although I suspect given a LOT more time and patience they would be superb. I am aiming for bulk and they will do for me.

Not really looking forward to the next period of lockdown but hopefully some virtual games and lots of painting to be done. Take care everybody 😀

  1. Hard to believe these fusiliers are 20mm. Super detail and super brushwork. Everyone needs this fusilier regiment in their Prussian army.

    1. Ta , they came as part of that large eBay army so I still have a lot of fusiliers to work through.

  3. They look great Matt. It's a lovely shade of pink that you have used for them.

  4. That's a lovely looking unit Matt. I too paint the unit, not the figure, but for those whose eyes are up to it and have the inclination, some of the detail on Pendraken's miniatures is superb. The AWI and LoA ranges are cases in point, both sculpted by the incredibly talented Clibinarium.

    1. Thanks Steve , I am finding them surprisingly ‘fun’ to paint as you don’t have to be too careful, and a unit really only takes 3 or 4 sessions so results are seen quickly. The only problem is I want lots more !!

  7. Lovely job, Matt, and I agree, Pendraken do very nice sculpts. Funny to think that back in the day pink was thought to be a dead butch colour for soldiers.

  8. Very nice painting. I’d love to be a fly on the wall at the meeting where they decided on pink uniforms. Seems like a strange choice. 😀
