I picked most of these up ages and ages ago to fight as a mercenary unit in my Persian army.
Nothing very fancy with them, they are Wargames Foundry figures and nice sculpts. They can play as light infantry or archers, most likely as one large unit. The only modification I made was to swop some with curved swords to spears.
Still planning to go to Partizan. So if anybody is going to the show and fancies a chat let me know 😀
Matt
A fine addition to the collection Matt, need some more Blood in the Sand action methinks. See you Sunday all being well, we plan to get there around 11ish.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil hopefully catch up for a chat on Sunday 👍
DeleteNice work on these Matt. I would love to catch up with you at Partizan for a chat but am unavoidably detained in the colonies!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith ….it’s a good show but yes a long way for you to travel ! Although detained in the colonies sounds like something from the 18th century ?
Deletethey look great. I've been thinking about Eqyptians and Hitites but in 10mm with loads of chariots, think that will look cool. In Partizan news, I'm currently bedridden with a trapped nerve in my shoulder. only 50/50 if I can make it. Will keep you posted and Dave is going
ReplyDeleteThanks …no plans for a larger Egyptian force these are very much to support the Persians hopefully you recover soon 👍
DeleteYour Egyptians look terrific, Matt! Can a full-blown Egyptian army and Hittites be far off? Enjoy yourself at Partizan.
ReplyDeleteThanks and no Jon no plans for a wider Egyptian force or 28 mm chariot armies, it would of course be impressive but a huge project !
DeleteBeautiful looking Egyptians Matt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal 👍
DeleteGreat brushwork, the game will be eye catching. Enjoy the con.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe 👍
DeleteGreat work there and always nice to have the odd mercenary unit kicking aorund to add flavour and colour to a game. Enjoy Partizan and look forward to your thoughts on the show.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve you are spot on the Egyptians are there for that little bit of colour and variation , one of the best things about a Persian army 👍
DeleteI have always fancied a pair of chariot armies, but know that it is not likely to happen - perhaps Martin’s idea of plenty of chariots in 10mm is something to think about. Enjoy Partizan II, I won’t be able to make it this time around (boo-hoo).
ReplyDeleteI’m with you Norm , love the idea of chariot armies but I’m unlikely to start that project anytime soon. 10mm would be an interesting idea, with big blocks of infantry and cavalry ? Worth considering
DeleteNicely done
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil 👍
DeleteNice unit! Hope to see you at T'Other Partizan on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteWill keep an eye out for you 👍
DeleteVery nice Matt…
ReplyDeleteHopefully I will be at Partizan… I shall be dressed as an old Scotsman so you should be able to spot me 😁
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly, I’ll keep an eye out for you although you might just be throwing me a line with the old Scotsman trick !
DeleteA lovely unit and Foundry are always nice sculpts to paint. Have fun at Partizan.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence 👍
DeleteGreat stuff Matt, always good to see NKE on the table.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
