Obviously more Perry figures which I plan to use for the bulk of the project. The challenge is I tried to make this unit slightly more regular which didn't really happen ☹️ May have to change the red and white blanket which was an experiment. The third unit which is well on the way will definitely be a bit more of a 'regular' unit.
Good work! In summer, Northern Virginia is hot AND humid! Not pleasant conditions for conducting a 19th Century campaign.
ReplyDeleteThanks.....can't remember when you joined the blog but I was there last year visiting the fantastic Battlefields...it was great and it was very hot, but we're nearly at 75/80 degrees here which is very hot for England in May.
DeleteIn the Pacific Northwest, 75-80 F is ideal! Of course, we have very low humidity.
DeleteI will have a look through your blog and see if there are any battlefield walks from your trip last year.
A buddy and I traveled back east in 2010 and visited 12 Eastern Theater battlefields in a long five day visit. Great fun! Besides the great battlefield walks, I especially remember enjoying peanut soup in a little cafe in New Market and the fine hospitality of the couple running the B&B in Shapsburg.
They are all in July 2016 I had a very inspirational 2 week holiday. Which included a loT of the major eastern theatre Battlefields.....and I sneezed in Historicon as well π
DeleteFantastic units Matt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal π
DeleteGreat looking units, there's something about ACW isn't there. Blanket looks OK, maybe he's the barber
ReplyDeleteThanks ......yes I have always like the look of ACW. But then I do like most wargaming units when they are painted up and based etc. As for the blanket it looks more like a football scarf every time I see it, it is going to have to chance.....π±
DeleteGreat job Matt, they look superb!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil two down and plenty to go π¬
DeleteLovely stuff, Matt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gordon....I have always loved the look of ACW so it is a joy for me to start a new project and see it develop π
DeleteThey look superb Matt.
ReplyDeleteThanks .......battlefield standard rather than display...but it is the overall look which I'm hoping to achieve
DeleteI can't believe how quickly you knock these out!
ReplyDeletePainted for the battlefield rather than the display cabinet. I am trying some simple techniques to speed the process as well. Almost a completion to see how low I can go and get a reasonable unit on finished.
DeleteA mighty fine start there Matt, I would leave the blanket roll, he could be the company barber;~)
ReplyDeleteThanks....the blanket is worrying me....it looks like a football scarf ! I may attend to it laterπ
DeleteThose look cool. I really like them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roy it is very stimulating and motivating to start a new project and see it start to take shape π
DeleteForgot to ask you if you're at Penrith show this year with a game?
DeleteDurham show is on the 10th, but I might also come along to Penrith to check it out - keep Col Bills company - be sociable.
Yep Roy I am planning to put on a game at Penrith show...but I keep getting distracted at the moment π
DeleteThey look great! It's supposed to be 75ish today over in the VA-MD region. This is our nice weather. :)
