Austrian Cuirassiers and Uruk hai

Ok just sharing a couple of things off the painting desk. I have completed the last of my Austrian Cuirassier units. These were the last of the Old Glory cavalry I picked up off eBay. Austrian Cuirassier Regiments at this scale all pretty much look the same.
I do need to add some sort of small banner/pennant
Putting them into the box so though I would take a photo of all the Austrian cavalry completed, I am waiting a new ‘big’ order of SYW figures from Pendraken 👍
I also finished the bases on the two Uruk Hai figures from the game the other night
and finally I bought this to try as my favourite Agrax earth shade is hard to get at the moment, I will do some comparison shots when I get a chance

Thanks for looking 😀

  1. Cuirassier's are looking lovely. I find the strong tone to be a tad stronger than Agrax earth shade, so have been thinning at a ratio of 1:1

  2. Very nice toys Matt.... as always.
I use the Strong Tone ink from time to time... it’s very nice and it dilutes well with Citadel Lahmian Medium...
I think it’s a little bit browner than Agrax Earthshade...

    All the best. Aly

    1. Thanks Aly will experiment with the shade...I am as most people now realise a bit slap dash so if it requires careful dilution etc....... that said Agrax is in short supply !

  3. Great looking cuirassiers! The orks are great ( if very specific!) I'm also looking at my pot of agrax earthshade with trepidation!

  5. Austrian Cuirassiers are boring to paint in 10mm. All looks good though and love the hobbit mounts

  10. Very nice work all around, Matt. I've yet to try Agrax shading - I know a lot of folks use it to good effect. So far, I've mixed Vallejo inks (skin tone and black) for shading flesh.

  11. Yes, everything at that scale kinda looks the same..but it all looks really good! 😀
And there is a strong need for uruks carrying hobbits as hobbits are always being carried off by one thing or another.
