AWI : British Grenadiers

After our short AWI mini campaign in December we have decided to run another set of linked scenario, this time focussing slightly earlier and having a little more historical context. Jonathan has been working on the scenarios so I won’t spoil the surprise. Part of the idea was to encourage me to paint up the unit of grenadiers which I knew would be a pain and I was putting off doing. So I started during Christmas and despite a momentary lapse into prepping British Infantry for the Third Afghan War I have kept my focus.

Wargames Foundry figures I have tried to do them justice thank heaven for stain, with blue trims etc they are technically a Royal Regiment. I won’t be rushing to do another regiment any time soon, basing is consistent so they can merge into other Regiments to bulk things out if necessary.

Unfortunately I just can’t stop shopping at the moment, no excuses, perhaps it is the general lockdown malaise. I have been looking out for C&C expansions and this came up at a reasonable price, and will encourage me to learn a bit more about French/Prussian battles. Quite a gap in my knowledge.....that’s if I have time, on this note, some very positive news in that I have agreed to reduce my hours and from March this year will officially become a part-timer working 4 days a week. This seems a good compromise as I plan to finish working around 60 in another 3 or so years. How time passes !

As we come to terms with our latest national lockdown, which i expect to get tougher and last longer than the previous two we are being discouraged from travelling too far so we ventured for a walk from the house to get some snowy views of the Lake District.
