Just a quick update of some recently completed ACW Confederate dismounted cavalry. All are Perry figures (metal) I have split the horses so I can use them as two smaller units if necessary.
I won’t feel so bad using the cavalry in games going forward. I have a similar number of Union Cavalry dismounts to match.😀
Excellent!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal 🙂
DeleteSuper work Matt, and in the one true period! Splitting horses sounds gruesome though...
ReplyDeleteThanks it felt a bit indulgent to have four horses ina group, so for our normal sized games pairs will do just fine
DeleteVery nice - I rather like the poses of the horses.
ReplyDeleteStraight from the packet Perry miniatures 🙂
DeleteUseful units for your growing ACW project. They look great!
ReplyDeleteI am allowing myself this indulgence as the core units have reached a reasonable stage, the union cavalry are prepped ready to go
DeleteA mighty fine addition to the collection Matt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil 😀
DeleteLovely and very useful figures!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks perry miniatures of course as I am keeping my ACW collection as consistent as I can, and they have a great range, it does mean my cavalry can now dismount in battle 🙂
DeleteLovely job Matt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael ......don’t look too close at the paint work 😱
DeleteLooks great! I haven’t really bothered with cav in my ACW stuff yet but likely will in the future.
ReplyDeleteBoth sides have a unit so far, but as they were really only used as mobile infantry I felt I needed these figures, they are very nice for the overall collection 🙂
DeleteSuperbly done, Matt. I've yet to get any Perry ACW (or AWI, for that matter), but seeing your work on them, I'd say they're the finest around.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be hard to say they aren’t amongst the best sculpts, starting the project for fresh the benefit is they have a good range, matched across plastic and metal.
DeleteNicely painted figures, they look good!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing them feature in an AAR...
