Regiment No 3 : SYW and Shiloh Scenarios

With life quite busy at the moment I haven’t headed south to Salute this year. In lieu of this I treated myself to a Shiloh Scenario book by Brad Butkovich. I have found a couple of his maps on the web but it is great to actually have the book. Scenarios are generally too large for my 28 mm collection but most can easily be split down to something manageable. So hopefully we will see some more Shiloh battles this year
Second up I thought I would pick off another Prussian infantry unit, they really don’t take too long but I need quite a few ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Eagle eye will notice I have used one of the Pendraken paper flags and one of their generic colour bearers. In the background you can see the alternative cast version.......on balance I prefer the paper version so will try more of these.

    Good looking Prussians! Once you have spent some quality time with the scenario book, how about a review? I have considered this and his other books but never pulled the trigger and purchased one.

    just about to start my 1st 7YW regiment. Also not sure about not having enough figures for a large battle between us, must have 2/3 of a Corps per side. Never thought I would be able to say that

    Looking forward to seeing some ACW AARs.

    Congrats on treating yourself. I have nearly ALL of Brad B’s scenario books and they are a great resource for the ACW gamer. I’ve been quietly working on getting enough stuff together for some of the Shiloh scenarios but the forces are kinda big. Can’t wait to see how you field some of those. ๐Ÿ˜€

      Thanks Stew...on first read the scenarios look excellent. In 28 mm I think my most likely approach is going to be to cut the larger scenarios down picking out a slightly smaller section of the battlefield, although I am thinking about shrinking the figure ratio up with the basic unit size being 12 rather than 24 man units this may be slightly abstracted and I would need some different rules for this option......some more thinking ๐Ÿค” needed
